How about a redo?

BOOOOOOM! is a blog that showcases creative works in art, design, music, film, photography and beyond and runs on submissions from said creatives. There's some suuuuuper stuff to check out on the blog, but one in particular jumped out of my laptop screen and smothered my eyeballs with it's awesomeness. The "Remake" project required submittees to redo a previous piece of art using photography - and some of the entries are unbelievable! I struggled to create a shortlist to share with you, so if you find them as ace as I do head over here and marvel at some more! Enjoy     x

Me too please

I start my first teaching prac on Monday. Eeeek!! So last week I got to thinking... What does one take to school to impress all the other teachers in the lunch room? What does one pack their lunch in that is sure to wow? The answer is this bad boy!

This gorgeous Mexican oilcloth lunch bag arrived in the mail this week from online store Me Too Please. I am thrilled, my new lunch bag is super cute and the perfect size (and I'm hoping it'll ease my nerves too - it wasn't mentioned in the product description, but here's hoping!!) I was equally as thrilled to find a cute note inside the bag which read "this lunch bag was made in Australia at a sheltered workshop employing autistic and disabled individuals." How gosh dang brilliant is that! If you are a fan of the oilcloth variety there are also oilcloth aprons, laptop bags, outdoor cushions and party bunting! Go crazy you coconuts!    x

Happy International Women's Day

I love being a woman. Isn't it great? I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful women to look up to! My dental assisting, bank teller-ing, hairdressing, cleaning, problem solving, cooking, mentoring, caring, loving, designing, painting, crafting (basically a whole lot of -ings) mother; my wonderful Nana who is over 60 and still mows and whippersnips her mountainous backyard, yet makes the best little cakes around; my Nannie who is the kindest soul and would do anything for her family; my Aunties; my sister, my dearest friends - my little community of incredible womanly cohorts!  In celebration of working women (which is all of us, I might add) I have posted a little video about the ladies who paved the way...

There are also some brilliant, brilliant articles and videos on Mamamia that are all about inspirational women and feminism! All the lovely lass's reading should definitely have a gander! They're a delight!    x

Remember me?

Wow. It has been a while dear blogosphere, over four months in fact. I can't believe my first post for the year is in March. Gahhhhh... Shame on me! But I am back and for those few people who are still checking my blog (hi Mum... Dad...) I will try to be a lot more present from now on!
I guess some of my absence is due to my being a very busy bee and due to a few buzz-tastic changes in my life. I moved into a new house with my partner in crime and it has been the best, I've started studying a new course, secondary education (my last for a looooong time my motivation has decided) and I am playing netball again after 3 and a half years - so all in all everything is going pretty dang well at the moment. To get you all up to speed, here are a few happy snaps to enjoy!   Welcome back me    x
