What a lovely thing to do

I was just reading the gorgeous blog 1001 way to be more lovely and I saw that Steph had created a soundtrack for her life (you can read the post for your oh-so-lovely-selves here). In the spirit of all things lovely, I decided to do the same thing with 15 of my most memorable songs.
So here goes:

1. Horses - Daryl Braithwaite
My dadda used to rock me to sleep to this song as a bub.
2. Fast Car - Tracy Chapman
My mum had pretty good taste in music, when I wasn't listening to her Cher or Joan Armatrading CD's I'd be bopping along to Tracy Chapman.
3. Four Kicks - Kings of Leon
The first time I remember actually listening to decent music, I was in my art class at school at the time - double street cred.
4. Coconut Skins - Damien Rice
This is one of the first songs I learnt on guitar (before I gave up). I remember being rather drunk at my 18th and singing it to my best friend, Gill.
5. No one's gonna love you - Band of Horses
Mah first (and only) love paused my Ipod at high school and gave it back to me stopped right on the chorus - he's a sweetie!
6. Monsters - Something for Kate
I have a massive obsession with this band, Monsters would come close to being my all-time favourite song!
7. Lemonworld - The National
His voice, the lyrics, this song - love, love, love!
8. Blood - the Middle East
I guess I am still getting over the break-up, these guys are so hauntingly beautiful.
9. Middle of the Hill - Josh Pyke.
Gill and I would sing every lyric of this song until we were blue in the face. I can never listen to JP without thinking of her.
10. 19 20 20 - The Grates
Patience is my absolute idol.
11. My Ticker - Jim Patterson
I heard this song years ago on JJJ unearthed and I find it so honest and charming and I've loved it ever since (it was also my Myspace profile song for ages!)
12. Things between people - Holly Throsby
It was really hard to pick just one of Holly's songs, but I settled on this one. This is the type of music I belt out in my car when I'm driving along by myself.
13. Kissing the Lipless - The Shins
Brilliant song by a brilliant band - plus Natalie Portman digs them too which is pretty cool!
14. Islands - The XX
I love this song! It's one of the few bands I will never ever get sick of.
15. Somebody that I used to know - Gotye feat. Kimbra
My favourite song at the moment, the man is a musical genius.

What songs would make it on your soundtrack?
